Springfield's approved study abroad programs are run directly through a partnership with an international institution or through a high-quality program provider.Springfield Direct Partner Programs
Springfield partner programs allow for studying alongside local and international students at institutions in Italy, Norway, Hong Kong, England and Ireland that compliment Springfield's mission. Some programs offer similar methods of teaching and assessment, while others differ significantly from those in the United States. These programs provide the highest level of academic and cultural immersion and require a great deal of self-sufficiency and independence on the part of students. The support networks reflect the cultural values and style of the host university or program. Springfield Affiliate or Provider Programs are administered by highly respected study abroad organizations approved by the College. Students typically enroll in courses in English along with local and international peers as well as language and culture courses designed for study abroad students. Students with at least an intermediate level of Spanish proficiency can also earn a Spanish minor while studying in a Spanish speaking country. Teaching and assessment methods as well as campus culture can be very different from those at American universities. Provider programs offer pre-departure, on-site and returnee support to help students adjust to all phases of the study abroad experience.
